It is said that Happiness is the result of a balance between eating right, exercising, mindfulness, spirituality, relationships and personal development.

During this Wellcation we will focus on several of these aspects in relation to Cardiovascular Heart Disease. This is extremely important because most women don’t know that:

  •  CHD (Cardiovascular Heart Disease) is the #1 killer of women in the US
  • Almost two-thirds of women who die suddenly of coronary heart disease had
no previous symptoms, and even if you have no symptoms, you may still be at risk for CHD

The good news is that you can control many CHD risk factors. CHD risk factors are conditions or habits that raise your risk for CHD and heart attack.

Not sure what they are or how to do that?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered ~ you will learn how to:

R Get into the habit of mindful living
R Manage stress and improve well being
R Learn which risk factors you can control & how to do that

When you’re surrounded by magical natural beauty, spirituality,  and a group of supportive women, you can truly discover the core of who you are. The focus of this trip is YOU ~

Take the time to reboot  your body, mind and soul.   A “Wellcation” is the kind of travel that keeps on giving.  It’s a great investment of your time and your money.

Here’s what you will experience…

~ Fabulous accommodations at “The Art Hotel of Santa Fe”, La Posada. At the finest hotel in Santa Fe, the rich history of the Southwest meets modern amenities and upscale comforts. Set on six beautifully landscaped acres just steps from Santa Fe’s Historic Plaza, La Posada de Santa Fe, a Luxury Collection Hotel & Spa, surrounds guests with local artwork, adobe architecture and authentic casita-style rooms unmatched at other Santa Fe hotels.

~ Touring privately with knowledgeable, experienced guides, and being immersed in Sante Fe and surrounding areas, you will enjoy the beauty, spirituality, nature, scenery, art and culture of the Southwest.

~ A wide range of cuisines: the area has been influenced by Native American Culture as well as Spanish Culture.

~ Taste farm to table cooking.

~ Enjoy a sumptuous cooking experience at the world renowned Sante Fe Cooking School (the owner of the school has a truly special meal planned for us).

~ An amazing Hiking adventure or two.

~ The answers to… What’s the fuss about yoga and meditation? Yoga alone improves your flexibility, builds muscle strength, perfects your posture, prevents cartilage and joint breakdown, protects your spine, improves blood flow, increases your heart rate (when you regularly get your heart rate into an aerobic range you lower your risk for a heart attack), boosts your immunity, lowers your blood pressure, helps you sleep deeper, increases your self esteem  … I can go on but, are you starting to see the picture? Oh, and did I mention how meditation can help with stress management?

~ How to set an intention and the importance of doing so.

~ History and Culture lessons during our Private tours ~ downtown Sante Fe: historic walking tour and gallery tour of Canyon Road, Taos, Chimayo valley, and Abiquiu.  Where appropriate, tours will include information on the mystical health, wellness and healing powers of the area.

~ Pampering – hot springs, mud bath, spa – what would a “Wellcation” be without relaxation?

~ The fascinating allure of Santa Fe. Everyone who visits or lives there says it is a magical special place.

~ Our Guide has arranged a Special Surprise Presentation/Performance for us in addition to a tastings dinner on our final evening {she seriously swore me to secrecy}.

Traveling with a private guide is the ultimate way to travel!

Memorable Day Excursions

Day Trip to Abiquiu which will include a special behind the scenes look at the Ghost Ranch, O’Keeffe’s summer home for many years.

Walking Tour of the Historic Santa Fe Plaza, known for it’s history, shopping, Native American crafts, and great food. During this special tour we will walk through more than 400 years of history, art, and culture.

We will be sure to see the famous Georgia O’keefe museum, the country’s sole museum devoted to a woman artist, as well as the Palace of the Governors (whose occupants have included government and military leaders from Spain, Mexico, the Confederacy, the U.S. and Indian nations).

Gallery Tour of Canyon Road. This is a very famous road internationally. Santa Fe is an art collectors dream, and nowhere else in town can you find the artistic scope and richness that Canyon Road offers.

On Canyon Road you’ll find more than 100 art galleries and studios, unique specialty shops, world class restaurants, and the historic adobe architecture that gives Santa Fe its legendary southwestern charm.

A full day trip to the charming and historic town of Taos. We will see Taos Pueblo which has been designated a World Heritage Site, indicating its cultural importance.

The Millicent Rogers Museum is on our agenda and I have been told she was quite the empowered woman. In addition, the Scenery along the way is captivating and includes a beautiful drive through the lush Chimayo Valley.
